Давайте изучим полезные слова связанные с работой, а также слова, которые на первый взгляд являются синонимами, но на самом деле имеют свои особенности употребления, оттенки значений (как salary and wage; to be out of work и to be off work; prospects и opportunities; challenging job и demanding job и многие другие).

Demanding job/challenging job

My father’s job is quiet demanding. It is stressful, requires a lot of skill and he has to work long hours.

My job is very challenging. It tests my abilities and keeps me motivated.

Being sacked/being made redundant

I was sacked/fired from my last job. My boss didn’t like the way I worked.

I’m a waiter and get paid every Friday. The wage aren’t very high but you can earn a lot in tips if do your job well.

The salary isn’t fantastic – about 20000 a year but the work is rewarding.
